Setting up Blink is easy, but please follow these steps in the order given. Let's get started!

I.

Installation of the Blink app & creation of your account

To download or update the app to the latest version, use the appropriate button for your device below. If you scan the QR code with your device, you will be taken directly to the download of the Blink app.

Note: If the Android version of the Blink app cannot be downloaded, you may need to delete the cache file for the Google Play Store in your phone's settings.

Follow the instructions below to get started with the Blink App:

1. Launch the Blink app and tap at the bottom of the screen create Account.


2. Select your country from the drop-down menu and tap Further

3. Confirm your location and tap OK.
A region is preselected based on your IP address.

4. Enter a valid email address, then tap Next.

5. Create a password and tap Create Account.
The password requirements are listed at the bottom of the screen.

6. Enter the PIN

Enter the PIN from the email we sent you and tap "Verify".

PIN codes are valid for 40 minutes. After a minute, the option "Resend PIN code" appears.


Next, a screen for entering the phone number will appear.

Tap the Phone numberEntry line to bring up a keyboard.

Select your country code from the menu that appears when you tap the flag icon next to the phone number entry line.

Enter the phone number you want to use for device verification and tap " further ".


If you do not want to use SMS, the PIN code can instead be read out to you through an automated voice call.
To shoose this option, select "Voice call" and tap "further".

Note: The SMS text option should only be used with cellular phone lines and will not work with landline lines. Blink ONLY uses this number to positively associate your device with the Blink app - to ensure that you are the person making the changes. Your data is private and will not be used for additional purposes or passed on to third parties.

At this point, an SMS text message with the PIN code will be sent to the phone number and the PIN entry screen will open for you.

Example SMS text message:

Enter the PIN from the SMS we sent you and tap "Verify".

PIN codes are valid for 40 minutes. After a minute, the "Resend PIN Code" option will appear.

When the verification is complete, the Blink app will open on the home screen.

Once your account has been verified, you will be asked to link your new Blink account to your Amazon account by clicking the button Tap Link Accounts. This is necessary in order to be able to fully use subscriptions after the first test phase has expired. You also have the option to select "Skip" to go to the home screen without linking your accounts. Click here to learn how to link your Blink and Amazon accounts another time.


Then log into your existing Amazon account or create a new one if necessary. The connection is then established between the accounts and you click Done.


You can then move on to the next step in setting up your sync module.

II.

Add a sync module and create a system

MANUAL

1. On the home screen, tap the Blink icon + to start.

2. The Add Device screen displays your device options.

  • Blink wireless camera system - A system contains a synchronization module and a Blink outdoor, indoor (2nd generation), XT2, XT or 1st generation indoor camera. Start here when you have these cameras.

  • Blink wireless camera - This option adds a Blink outdoor, indoor (2nd generation), XT2, XT or 1st generation indoor camera after adding a sync module.

  • Mini camera - The mini camera does not need a synchronization module as it manages its own system. However, a mini camera behaves like other flashing cameras when added to a system managed by the synchronization module. Your selection opens the QR code scanning screen.

3. The serial number is also printed as a QR code. To scan a QR code, the Blink app requires authorization to access the camera on your mobile device.

Tap on OKso that the Blink app can scan the QR code and automatically enter the serial number. If you want, you can deny access to the camera by clicking Aborttap and enter the serial number manually.

Tap your product image at the bottom of the Scan QR Code screen to see where the QR code and serial number are.

4. Give your system a name such as Home or Office, and then tap Done.

5. The Sync Module screen will ask you to connect your camera and then wait for the lights to come on, which should be where the blue light should blink. If so, tap Identify device.

6. "Blink Beta" would like to establish a connection to the WLAN "BLINK-XXXX" is displayed on the screen.

7. The Add Sync Module screen shows 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks in range. Select the Wi-Fi network that you will be connecting to the Internet and tap Connect. The synchronization module stores network information for devices that have been added to its system. If you don't see your local Wi-Fi network, tap at the bottom of the screen To update. Click here to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connection issues.

8. When you tap your Wi-Fi network name, a password entry box will appear. Make sure your password is correct before entering it. An incorrect password is a common cause of difficulty getting started. Tap on Connect, to continue.

9. When the network setup is complete, you will be notified on the screen. Tap on Finishedto complete the installation process and display the Blink app welcome screen, where you can now add a camera.

The system name should appear at the top of the home screen. You will be notified that the sync module has been added. The "Cloud" icon displays a green connection line, indicating that the sync module is communicating with the Bink servers. You can now tap the plus symbol+ add a device.

III.

Add camera (s)

You add your camera (s) one at a time. However, with Blink's easy setup and multi-camera compatibility, you can easily add more cameras to your system whenever you decide to start with one or add more later.

Note: The Blink Mini does not require a sync module and can be operated as a separate, separate system or added to an existing system. The following instructions apply to all cameras except the Mini.

1. You are now on your Blink start screen. Tap the + symbol.

2. On the “Add Device” screen, select the second option, “Wireless Flashing Camera”.

3. A screen will ask you to scan the QR code or manually enter the serial number on the device.

4. On the Select System screen, add your camera to the existing system that you have already set up.

5. While your camera is being added, the Blink app will show you some helpful tips on how to position your camera. After it's successfully added, tap Done.

*For the XT2 camera only - At this point you will see an additional screen (see below) asking you to allow the Blink app to access your microphone. This is necessary in order to use 2-way audio and speak to the people you see on the camera.

6. You are now back on the main screen of the Blink app. You will see some arrows indicating options for your newly added camera.


To add more Blink cameras, tap the same Add button and follow the same steps.
