Yesterday was on a bigger tour with my 400N. And as she is beautiful
was warm and and I turn the throttle "fetsch" brief backfire. Was
taut on the way and with the nock it gets really warm but that
    I haven't had it yet
I noticed that this always happens when I fully open the throttle
    close quickly.
Otherwise it runs great and starts up no problem.

Are you sure it was a misfocus? If your chain is not tensioned correctly, it will sound much the same.

I only checked the chain tension on Saturday when I was spraying grease
    was ok
These misfires didn't always happen either, but 5-6 on a tour
    of 250km

Tip that it is not a misfire but a burn in the exhaust. In the overrun mode, the engine sucks in a relatively rich "mixture", which in the event of poor combustion also partially collects in the exhaust and then "blows" there from time to time.

If that is it ... what can you do about it
Carburetors were actually cleaned, adjusted and changed when the cam was replaced
synchronized. I'm otherwise very satisfied with the mopep

Take a look at the video "Bike Doctor 2" here, listen carefully and watch out for Doc's broad grin just before the fade.

I pulled the video down and looked at it on my window box
(I'm on the net with Linux and have difficulties with some videos).
Well, with such a machine, I also have a smile
But with my little one I would have liked to know whether I can live with it or whether
There is a need for action, because I actually always wanted to arrive

    Biker cb 400:

I don't know the CB 400. With my CB 250G, however, I also have the problem now and then (but it doesn't bother me). Occurs more intensely when the ignition timing is incorrect. However, I always have the carburettors a bit "richer".

  • Hi!

If it hits the exhaust, it will sooner or later tear off the baffle plates in the exhaust and / or spit back into the intake track when the pressure wave of the explosion hits an open exhaust valve.

In order to prevent popping in push mode, the 400 series have an "Aircut" valve in the carburettor.
I think one of the membranes is broken (torn somewhere), here's a replacement.

Otherwise it may still be that it draws secondary air at the exhaust and the additional oxygen makes it possible to pop.

    Check that out

    Kind regards
    Nicklas

  • Hello

I can only join the man in front of me. I had the same problem with my CM 400, misfires when accelerating quickly. My Air Cut valves were also kinked and no longer OK. Now that I have installed new ones and also new exhaust gaskets, I no longer have any misfires.

I don't know exactly what it was now, but one of the two, or both but the result is correct.

thanks for the tip , still have a pair of "spare carburetors" will look like them
look there or whether they have to be new.
And for the weekend I hope that the weather will be better in the motorcycle tour planner
already aimed at the next target

  • When the aircut valves are flat, the carburetors start bouncing with every slap. However, on a 250 km tour it is more than 5-6 times. Should be more like 5-6k. because they slap all the time.

  • hello everyone .... the year before last also had the problem with misfiring ....... but they occurred under full load, at around 6000 rpm, a lot of parts had been exchanged at the time, and then it still didn't work, then i had just tried it with a larger contact distance with the candles, but then it only ran worse, started great and had a bombshell idle, but that was not in the spirit of the inventor, so i tried it again with one very small distance and the misfires and the huge power hole shifted so high in speed that I was no longer interested ......... at some point that hole came down again and I couldn't get it any more ... ...... had already exchanged all the parts that had to be exchanged ....... except for the wiring harness .......... I exchanged it after the bike was completely dismantled because I had sunk it a little with my funnels, which I didn't was further bad, just looked stupid ....... but then on the test drive I noticed that I had not "manipulated the candles ..... but as I noticed, the hole had disappeared .." ...... and now my little mouse drives super well with a 450n motor, but still with 27ps, but it brings its 188km / h (according to GPS) top speed after about 1km ............ The last tour was 10 days ago, it was about 1100km and 400km of it with the tap on the stop .......... :-)

  • 27 hp and 188 km / h top? Are you sure that she only has 27 horses ???

  • According to the vehicle registration document, the 400N should run around 170. And, in my opinion, this can only be achieved in free fall

With the 450 engine you can get there with a lot of benevolence, but never with 27 hp
