How to Install Gmail on iPhone 4s

Apple Mail: This is how you configure the email app on the iPhone

IOS GUIDE: APPLE MAIL

Would you like to have your emails sent directly to your iPhone, but you don't know how the associated setup works? In our instructions we will show you how to set up the mail app on the iPhone or iPad independently of your e-mail provider.

Whether Gmail, Outlook or Web.de - the mail app on iOS is compatible with all email providers. If you want, you can use several accounts at the same time. Similarly, Apple Mail can replace all third-party email clients.

In this guide, we explain how to set up the mail app on iOS for the first time. Please note that in some cases the setup takes place during the first iPhone configuration - for example if you are using an iCloud address. If this is not the case for you, you can read in the first section how to set up the Mail app from scratch.

The second section explains how to add additional accounts to your mail app. Our iOS guide also has numerous other instructions for everything to do with Apple Mail and iOS as a whole.

Add more accounts

  1. 1

You cannot add other accounts directly via the mail app. This is done in the iOS settings. To do this, click on the corresponding symbol on your home screen.

  2. 2

Now scroll down a bit and select the menu item "Passwords & Accounts".

  3. 3

Here tap on "Add Account". From now on, setting up another account is the same as setting up the first account in the steps above.

Set up another email app

  • If you want to use a different email app, first download it from the App Store.
  • Some apps also contain templates for popular email providers. So all you have to do here is enter your name, email address and the associated password.
  • Otherwise, the app will ask you for the server data for the incoming and outgoing mail servers.
  • A list of POP and IMAP server data can be found here.
  • If you have specified this and confirmed the dialog with a click on "OK", you should now be able to send and receive e-mails.
