List box Outputs the names of the existing files in the directory.

Different systems allow different numbers of characters in file names. Some systems are case sensitive (they distinguish between uppercase and lowercase letters), while others are not. If portability between different systems is important, file names with a maximum of eight characters in the same size are recommended.

When saving a drawing file with an extension other than DGN as a DWG file, MicroStation always automatically appends the extension to the name of the output file to distinguish it from other drawing files with the same name but different extensions. For example, if Muster.s01 is saved as DWG, the name of the output file will be Muster_s01.DWG.

In previous versions, this naming convention was only used when multiple files with the same name existed in the same directory. For example, if the directory contained both Muster.s01 and Muster.s02, the extension was included in the output file name (Muster_s01.dwg and Muster_s02.dwg). If the directory did not contain files with the same name, the extensions were not included in the output filenames. For example, if the directory only contained the sample.s02 file, this file would be saved as sample.dwg. To use this naming convention, set the configuration variable, set the configuration variable MS_DWGOMITUNIQUEEXTENSION.

Filename This option specifies the name of the drawing file to be saved.
File type Defines the file format. If the active file is an overlay file, this option is set to Overlay Files (* .overlay.dgn) and cannot be changed. If the active file is a DGNLib file, this option is set to DGN library files (* .dgnlib) and cannot be changed. The open drawing file is saved in this format.
